On Monday night, November 14th, Tennessee Titans Cornerback Jason McCourty Presents Tackle Sickle Cell Comedy Night taking place at Zanie’s in Nashville. This fundraiser supports the Tackle Sickle Cell Campaign started by Jason and his twin brother, Patriots safety, Devin McCourty. The show will be headlined by comedian Nore Davis, who himself has Sickle Cell Disease.
Jason McCourty has been a constant presence serving the Nashville community since his arrival to the Titans in 2009. In recent years Jason was nominated for the NFL's Walter Payton Award, the Art Rooney Award and the Byron “Whizzer” White Award (the highest honor the NFL Players Association can bestow on a player). The "Whizzer" White award recognizes players who go above and beyond to perform community service in their team cities and hometowns.
In 2013, Jason and Devin McCourty partnered with New Jersey based non-profit, Embrace Kids Foundation to launch their Tackle Sickle Cell campaign. Since then, they’ve hosted multiple blood drives and fundraising events in their home state of New Jersey. In 2014, the campaign expanded into the two cities where the McCourty twins play for their respective NFL teams, Boston and Nashville.

Prior to the NFL, the twins were football standouts at Rutgers University and in May of 2016 they both were inducted into The Rutgers Hall of Distinguished Alumni, the highest honor the university can bestow upon an alumnus/a. Created in 1987, the Hall of Distinguished Alumni recognizes alumni who, through their superlative achievements in professional and civic life, have brought honor to themselves and to the university.
