The NashvilleStandUp.com Showcase @ Zanies is a showcase of the funniest professional comedians based in the Nashville area, plus guest sets from traveling comics, and a few up-and-coming young comics from the local Nashville scene. The show is produced by NashvilleStandUp.com's Chad Riden.
The 5/9/2013 lineup includes:
Ron Ron Moseley
Mary Jay Berger
Several "bucket" spots will be available to any comics in the audience who want to throw their names in the hat.. and those comedians will be in the running for a booked spot in the future.
: Chad Riden's comedy is about his chaotic reality. A full time road comic since 2006, Riden's last couple years have featured bankruptcy, a case of shingles, divorce, foreclosure and the best shows of his life. “Chad Riden – good guy. Been through a lot. His heart’s heavy. World’s weighing heavy on Chad. He’s got a burden.. but he’s a funny guy. It makes him a funny guy. That burden makes him funny.” - Marc Maron, WTF episode 209 (September, 2011). Over the course of a weekend in February 2011, Doug Stanhope called Chad Riden “wicked funny” once, “fucking brilliant” twice, and “stupid” only one time.
Heather Le Roy
: Heather was born in Chattanooga, Tn and raised on the Alabama state line (aka the Bermuda triangle of Fireworks stands and Wal Marts). Being a baptist -preacher's- daughter's- daughter she had two options: the military or comedy. Due to a crossbow accident one summer, comedy won.Since leaving the farm, Heather attended Emerson College (which she doesn't remember much of thanks to Maker's Mark ), served a couple of tours of duty in Hollywood-where she got off the whiskey and debuted "The Battle of Wounded Me, " her first one woman show. It received rave reviews and much validation through thunderous applause. She then performed in the Galway Arts festival and other comedy venues filled with Irish farmers and travellers. She's currently working on her second solo show "Mediokra" and is excited to be back on the east coast where people still have facial expressions.
